Basic Quilt Preparation and Loading
Learn how to have
your quilt “machine ready”, and load a quilt on the frame.
Getting Started with Machine Quilting
You will learn the basic skills to get started quilting on a frame.
We will cover needles, thread, tension, batting. Starts and Stops. Supplies and tools.
Simple meandering will be covered
Machine Quilting Skill Builder – Using Tools of the Trade
In this class, we will continue to build your basic skills for quilting on a frame using tools that are available on the market, such as rulers, templates, and stencils.
Intro to Freehand Quilting
Working from the front of the machine, you will learn basic beginner freehand design work. Learn to cover the quilt top evenly and efficiently.
Alternative Meandering
Learn to use simple shapes to broaden your freehand skills. Any and all designs presented in this class can be used as either background fills, or all over patterns.
Intro to Custom
Quilting
Learn basic alternatives to edge to edge quilting
Pantographs/Pattern/Groovy
Boards
Learn how to set up, interlock, and space pantographs.
Beginning Feathers
Introduction to basic longarm feathers
Borders and Corners
Learn alternative methods to stitch borders and corners
Advanced Feathers
Complex feather designs and shapes will be introduced
Advanced Freehand
Frenzy
Complex freehand design concepts will be introduced
Quilt Interpretation
Learn methods to help you decide what to quilt
Each class runs approximately one hour, and cost $40.00 each.
